NRFA TO TRAIN 254 ENGINEERS FROM 116 DISTRICTS

The National Road Funs Agency say intends to train about 254 engineers from 116 Districts across the country.
Chief Executive Officer Wallace Mumba disclosed that so far 126 have been trained from local authorities and department of housing and Infrastructure Development.
The trainings have been conducted in Lusaka, Central, Northern, Copperbelt, Southern and Western Provinces.
Training are being conducted to strengthen diverse work culture for technical staff in local authorities as a way of assisting them in managing enhanced Constituency Development Funds CDF for project efficiency and effectiveness.
Mr Mumba revealed this during the official opening of the capacity building workshop for local authorities from North-Western, Luapula and Copperbelt Provinces on contract material testing and road safety inspections as well as audits in Solwezi.
And North-Western province Permanent Secretary Col Grandson Katambi said the programme has come at the right time as the province is being considered for the World Bank in the road sector.
