Over 70 Street Adults and Children repatriated to their Respective Towns from Kitwe

The Local Authority in Kitwe has repatriated over 70 families that were spending night and asking for alms in Kitwe to their respective towns
The repatriated include street adults and children mainly from the Kitwe Main Bus Station KMB and central business District.
Kitwe District Commissioner Lawrence Mwanza and Mayor Mpasa Mwaya yesterday morning swang into action to facilitate for the exercise
Among the repatriated, 45 were from Ndola and 30 from Luanshya and occupied corridors of shops within KMB inconveniencing shop owners and those wanting to buy commodities.
The street adults and children brought about environmental hazards among others according to Kitwe Mayor Mpasa Mwaya during the repatriation exercise.
The Mayor’s desire is to ensure that they are received well in their respective towns adding that the exercise was conducted in collaboration the Ndola City and Luanshya Municipal Councils saying the respective District Social Welfare is aware of the matter and that it shall be addressed accordingly.
And Kitwe District Commissioner said his office was ready to ensure that issues to do with the less privileged in the district were addressed by registering them for social benefits such as the social cash transfer further urging
Everyone to take part in ensuring that street adults and children are back to their homes by not encouraging giving alms
