Written by newsroom on December 27, 2021
The North-Western provincial Administration has embarked on a programme to carry out an audit on contracts both in the private and public sector.
North-Western Permanent Secretary Col Grandson Katambi has disclosed that the provincial administration has taken up the initiative because the administration wants an even distribution of contracts.
Col Katambi says he is aware that previously, the contracts were being awarded on partisan lines saying what the administration want to see is a situation where every Zambian benefits from the contracts, provided they have what it takes to execute that project.
He says every Zambian has a legal right to engage in any business without being blocked, stressing that the provincial administration will not take kindly the awarding of contracts on partisan lines going forward as it is disadvantaging others.
He was speaking when United Party for National Development (UPND) national youth chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso called on him.
