THREE NABBED FOR SELLING MILLY MULTI-PURPOSE JUICE PURPORTING TO CURE DISEASES

The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority ZAMRA in collaboration with the Zambia Police have apprehended selling Milly Multi-purpose Juice that claims to cure a number of life-threatening diseases including diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, heart failure, asthma and other medical conditions.
ZAMRA Senior Public Relations Officer Christabel Iliamupu has confirmed the arrest of the three.
Ms Iliamupu has named the three as Mirriam Namusokwe 40, Aaron Mando 25 and Henry Banda of 32 all of Chamba Valley in Lusaka.
The three have been jointly charged for placement on the market medicine without approval from the authority and selling medicine in a place other than a Pharmacy or health facility contrary to section 39 (1) (3) and (44) of the Medicines and Allied Substances Act number three of 2013 of the Laws of Zambia.
The suspects have since been released on police bond and will appear in court soon.
And ZAMRA has warned sternly unscrupulous individuals advertising and selling medicinal products that have not undergone evaluation for safety, efficacy and quality therefore putting unsuspecting members of the public at health risk that once found wanting, they will be prosecuted within the confines of the law.
