The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia NAQEZ says it awaits a decent salary increment for Teachers in Zambia in order for them to meet the high cost of living that now stands at K8, 000 for a family of six.

NAQEZ Executive Director Aaron Chansa observes that Teachers have suffered for too long especially that they have not received what he terms as reasonable salary increment since 2012, therefore they deserve better conditions of service now.

He has noted that if Teacher Unions fail to secure funding for salary upgrades and appointments in substantive positions for a Thousand Teachers that have been acting for years, the organization will be disappointed.

And Mr Chansa adds that failure to secure funding would perpetuate the sufferings and in turn result in Teachers losing motivation owing to the hardships they are going through.

He says as an organization, it fears the situation will terribly affect the delivery of quality education in Schools.
