WOMEN’S LOBBY GOES BEYOND IN IDENTIFYING VICTIMS OF GBV

The Zambia National Women’s Lobby says the 16 days of Gender Activism has gone beyond paper as more women that have endured gender based violence have been identified in different parts of the country.
And Organization Copperbelt Provincial Board Member Komiwe Zulu has disclosed that women aged between three and 45 are the most abused.
Ms Zulu further disclosed that the majority women are abused by people close to them.
She says currently, the victims of gender based violence are going through cancelling.
Ms Zulu has further called on the general public and the victims to come on board and fight gender based violence.
The 2021 Third Quarter Gender Based Violence disaggregated Data indicates that 1,027 child victims were abused countrywide representing 25.4% of all the victims of Gender Based Violence. Out of the 1,027children, 850 were girls representing 82.8%while 177 were boys representing 17.2% of all abused child victims respectively.
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence is being observed under the theme “Orange the World: End Violence against Women Now!”
