Written by newsroom on December 9, 2021
Residents of Kitwe’s Kwacha resettlement area for the past three months have not had the access to safe and clean drinking water as a result of boreholes drying up.
The residents say since the boreholes dried up, it has been very difficult accessing clean water.
Their observation is that, with the dry spells currently being experienced, it will be very difficult to access clean water.
And Kwacha Ward councilor Fewdays Kapembwa has assured the residents the issue of water will be looked into as he has already informed the water utility Company Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation.
Councilor Kapembwa says immediately the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) is disbursed, works involving the putting up of water pipe lines will commence immediately.
He disclosed that the CDF is likely to be in by January next year and has therefore called on the residents to be patient.
