CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE CALL ON THE PRIVATE SECTOR TO HAVE THEIR STAFF VACCINATED
Written by newsroom on November 29, 2021
The Zambia Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ZACCI) has called on the private sector including its affiliates, associations, 29 chambers and corporate members across the country to get its workforce vaccinated.
Government has implemented strict Covid-19 preventive measures to curb the spread of the new COVID-19 Variant, Omicron.
ZACCI President Dr. Chabuka Kawesha notes that being unvaccinated poses many risks to the workforce and consequently threatens to disrupt production.
Dr. Kawesha adds that the industry will only continue to operate at optimum if robust vaccine campaigns are carried out and the entire workforce channels efforts towards mass inoculation thus minimizing the spread of COVID-19.
He states that the low rate of vaccination is alarming and calls for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to stem the spread of the corona virus and all its variants.
The cumulative total of persons who have been fully vaccinated in Zambia stands at 667, 433.
