UPND NMC MEMBER ADVISES PF TO MAKE FUNDAMENTAL CHANGES AT ITS CONVENTION

United Party for National Development National Management Committee Member Percy Chanda has stated that as the Patriotic Front holds its extraordinary convention to elect its party President and other officials next June, the party should make some fundamental changes.
Mr. Chanda notes that the PF’s post-mortem report on why it lost the 12 August polls highlighted theft, corruption, caderism, arrogance and brutality which should be an eye opener as the party selects its next leaders.
He adds that it is the hope that the PF will emerge a much stronger opposition party that can offer credible checks and balances after the convention as the party in its current form is disorganised, hopeless and lacks credible leadership.
Mr. Chanda has also warned that the party should be wary not to conduct a chaotic convention s was witnessed during the 2015 intra party election which was characterised by violence.
