Written by newsroom on November 18, 2021
Operations at the District Administration offices in Chavuma District were yesterday morning halted by United Party for National Development UPND members who decided to close the offices in protest against the newly appointed District Commissioner Shindani Mbundu.
And in a video which has gone viral on social media, protesters clad in UPND party regalia have objected that the y want another person and not Mr Mbundu.
They are not pleased with Mr Mbundu as District Commissioner adding that he is not preferred person.
He is accused of having betrayed the party while in opposition from 2016 and that he supported a candidate who stood as an Independent.
They say no amount of pressure will move them until their grievances are addressed, the office will remain closed.
North-Western Acting Permanent Secretary Beatrice Muyambango could not be reached for a comment by Press time.
