PF Kitwe Mayoral candidate Mwaya Mpasa has pledged to do a lot of stakeholder engagement in line with the Kitwe City council motto which states;“Let’s Build Us a City.’’
She says once voted into office she will do a lot of hard work and ensure that she delivers according to people’s expectations.
Ms. Mwaya said this shortly after filing in her nominations on Tuesday 18th May,2021 at Kitwe City Council.
And speaking earlier, after filing in her nominations, UPND Kitwe aspiring mayoral candidate Grace Sampa Malunga, said if she is voted into office she will carry out a robust land audit to determine what has been going on with regards to the allocation of land in Kitwe District.
Ms. Malunga said a lot of people are crying because their land has been grabbed from them and many have been displaced.
Ms. Malunga has vowed to repossess all the land that has been obtained illegally.
She reveals it is sad that some people from other towns are being allocated land at the expense of the rightful owners.
She further pledged to address the water reticulation problem in Kwacha township noting it’s an embarrassment in this modern age for the community to be using pit latrines.
And Ms. Malunga said she will lead an open door policy so that people are free to access the council.
She also promised to depoliticize bus stations and markets as well as managing waste through the recycling project among many other things.
