DEVELOPMENT OF OPEN PLACES REJECTED IN KITWE

The Kitwe City Council KCC has received objections related to applications for change of land use of some open spaces in Kitwe District.
This follows applications received by the local authority for change of land use for stand number KIT/ 1226, Independence Avenue, Parklands in Kitwe, by Mount Meru Petroleum Zambia limited, stand number 6163, Zambezi Way, Riverside by Brentwood Trading Limited .
Other applications are related to stand number 5400 Kamida Drive,River side,Kitwe by Vanesa Kabaso as well as stand number 674 along nationalist road in Parklands.
This is contained in a statement made available to Flava FM News by Kitwe City Council Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba.
Ms. Mwamba says,according to section 53 of Urban and Regional Planning Act No.3 of 2015 provides for mandatory publishing of the application by the local authority for at least 14 days upon receipt of the same and that all of the open places except KIT/915 on Zambezi way earmarked for construction of a mini-Hospital in Kwacha constituency were objected.
She says in this regard, the local authority will in accordance with section 53 of urban and regional planning Act No. 3 of 2015 which provides for mandatory publishing of the application by the local authority proceed to inform the applicants about council decision supported by the outcome of public comments.
