The Kitwe City Council should continue to engage citizens to allow them appreciate services they are offering, some residents of Kamfinsa Constituency have demanded.
Speaking during a public meeting organised by the African Centre for Social Justice on the preparation and implementation of the main valuation roll in Kamfinsa, the residents stated that most people have continued to attack the council because they are not open enough.
The residents have however; appealed to the Kitwe City Council to consider exempting the vulnerable elderly from paying rates stating that majority of them cannot afford to pay due to economic hardships.
The residents have further commended the African Centre for Social Justice for creating a platform that allowed them to interact with the Kitwe City Council.
Speaking later, Kitwe City Council Valuation Roll Officer Nchimunya Mungalaba said the local authority appreciates the feedback from the community and will endeavour to ensure improved service delivery.
