Nkana Water and Sewerage Company have commenced interventions to resolve the erratic water supply that continues to affect most parts of Ndeke Township.
Company Managing Director Diana Makwaba said the company is undertaking the water and sanitation phase II project to ensure people in the area are supplied with the commodity.
Ms. Makwaba has explained that works at Ndeke distribution centre have been completed stressing that people in the area have already started receiving water without any challenges.
She has thanked government for the support in the undertaking of both immediate and long term measures to ensure provision of water to communities.
And Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe has appealed to the Water utility company to create small units that can be dealing with water leakages among others.
He has urged the company to invest in the long term solution so that the water challenges faced by the people in the area are completely done away with by the year 2021.
Mr. Kang’ombe further said that the projects being undertaken by the water utility company will cushion water challenges in the Ndeke Township and other surrounding areas.
The duo was speaking shortly after they inspected some projects that are currently taking place in Ndeke and Ndeke Village this morning.
