R Kelly appeared in court yesterday in an orange jumpsuit as his ‘good friend’ who posted his $100,000 (£80,000) bond back in February asked a judge for it back.
Valencia Love put up the 10% payment of Kelly’s initial $1million (£800,000) bond earlier this year after he was indicted in the Cook County case.
However after requesting the money be returned, now the singer is being held without bail, she had her question denied by Judge Lawrence Flood in Chicago on Tuesday.
The 52-year-old performer is facing four sets of state and federal sex-crimes charges, which have been brought against him in three states.
Chicago Sun-Times reporter Mitch Dudek wrote on Twitter: ‘Judge now hearing from attorney representing Valencia Love, who met R Kelly on a Lake Michigan boat cruise and later posted 100k for his bond, buying his freedom until the he was arrested on federal charges — she wants her money back.’
