A Civil Society Organisation Chapter One Foundation is concerned that little or no efforts are being made to make Zambia Green despite the re-launch of the Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Health campaign.
Organisation Executive Director Linda Kasonde says while the re-launch is commendable, infrastructure projects being implemented across the country have resulted in the cutting of trees.
She has called for more policy and legislative consistency on the part of government in finding sustainable measures to address challenges in the face of climate change.
Ms Kasonde states that while it is agreeable that Climate Change has had a negative impact on economies globally, challenges being faced in the country cannot all be attributed to Climate Change.
She has reminded President Edgar Lungu that Zambians are looking at the Presidency to provide leadership and not excuses as the case was during the official opening of the fourth session of the twelfth national assembly.
Meanwhile, Ms Kasonde has called for the need to revise the system of emoluments especially relating to allowances and other benefits.
