Agric Minister urges MP’s not to politicize hunger situation

Minister of Agriculture Michael Katambo has called on members of parliament to avoid politicizing the hunger situation that has hit some areas in the country.
Mr. Katambo says it is important for members of parliament to care for those are affected unlike politicking on the situation to gain political mileage.
He said there is need to be real about the fact that the affected regions are currently being attended to further emphasizing government’s commitment through the disaster management and mitigation unit.
Mr. Katambo revealed said that government has further taken a step to allow people that are willing to offer community service to the people in the affected areas to donate as one way of supporting address the challenge.
The minister also said farmers are free to take food from areas that that had experienced good rainfall to the areas that are affected without any interference by the police.
