Government has stated that the recapitalisation of government printers will be completed in January, 2020 provided funds are made available.

Minister of Works and Supply Silvia Chalikosa has stated that the recapitalisation process is expected to cost government about K 258 million.

Ms Chalikosa states that government has so far invested K 14 million towards the recapitalisation further adding that the process will be financed partly by the Zambian government and an investment partner.

She says upon completion of recapitalization, government printers will be ready to print papers and other election materials for the 2021 general elections.

Ms Chalikosa adds that the process will also help save costs for the electoral commission of Zambia spent on stakeholders as well as help create jobs for Zambians.
