Zambia Institute of Architects President Sydney Ngoma has urged developers and members of the general public to comply with best practices where safety is concerned.
Mr Ngoma said it is important for members of the public to involve architects in their developments throughout the project life so that there is guidance, leadership and strict adherence to appropriate laws pertaining to safety.
He says sustainable development goals number 11 and 12 provides for promotion of sustainable cities and communities through responsible construction and production throughout the construction cycle.
This is contained in a statement made available to Flava fm News following the death of one person during construction works at woodlands Stadium on Friday July, 19 in Lusaka.
Mr Ngoma further said the institute will investigate the matter through its inspectorate in collaboration with its stakeholders and ensure that all developments going on in the country comply with set standards.
